Effective the Spring Semester of 2018, registration and 80%-attendance of sessions of the Seminar course MMAE 593 is only required from all M.S. graduate students (enrolled with a Thesis or Non-thesis requirement) and from all Ph.D. students. This applies to all students enrolled in the graduate degrees in MMAE. The 80% attendance is required for passing the course. For degree completion, they must pass the seminar in all semesters while they are full-time.
The above requirement reflects the change that "Students doing the MENG degree programs or non-thesis MS degree program are no longer required to attend the seminar for graduation requirements ". This change was approved by the MMAE faculty via a formal vote.
Jamshid Mohammadi (mohammadi) (Fri, 15 Jun 2018 21:14:42 GMT): Rollback: Dear Sumanta: I suggest you make the requirement simple - for example, minimum one time for MS and minimum two times for PhD students. The formula you are suggesting will complicate things for students who are here many semesters each time taking only one thesis course. They are still considered full-time yet they are here multiple semester to fulfill their research - just a suggestion.
